Mühlenchemie appoints Latin American sales representative
AHRENSBURG, GERMANY - Daniel Landschoof has joined
Mühlenchemie GmbH & Co. KG, Ahrensburg, Germany, as the
company's junior area sales manager for Latin America. Landschoof, a chemical engineer, will be responsible for customers
in South and Central America under Area Sales Manager Detlev
Rösler.
"The enlargement of our sales force underlines the importance
that flour standardization and flour improvement have in this con-

tinent," said Mühlenchemie's Managing Director Lennart Kutschinski. "As we aim to be as close as possible to our customers in
all the markets, we have taken on an employee who knows the
language, the culture and the mentality of this market, too."
Landschoof was born in Mexico. He studied at Iberoamericana
University and acquired initial vocational experience with wellknown companies such as Unilever Mexico, Johnson & Johnson
Medical and Kimberly & Clark in Mexico City.

Buhler announces a 10% increase in sales
UZWIL, SWITZERLAND - The Buhler Technology Group
announced on April 3 that its net profits for fiscal 2007 increased CHF 10 million ($9.65 million) to CHF 130 million
from 2006. The company sales revenues increased by 10% to
CHF 1.773 billion from a year ago. The operating result (EBIT)
rose by 34% to CHF 138 million. Orders were received for
CHF 1.838 billion, which is 9% higher than in 2006. For fiscal 2008, Buhler said it expects further growth of sales and
profits, despite the emerging economic slowdown in some
markets.
Buhler noted that its Feed and Chocolate & Cocoa business
units further strengthened their positions in the marketplace,
growing by about 20%. Buhler said it continues to forge ahead

with establishing its
regional platforms.
Buhler said this concept's success is particularly evident in East Europe and in Asia. Both regions profited
from high order bookings. Buhler said that its Indian sector developed excellently, with sales growing by 37%. Buhler noted that in
the Middle East it benefited from a number of large-scale projects,
which led to growth of 64%.
Due to high wheat prices and weakness in the automotive vendor industry, Buhler said it expects a demanding market environment in 2008. Buhler said its backlog of orders of CHF 871 million sets a sound basis for fiscal 2008.
