Alapala introduces new roller mill
ISTANBUL, TURKEY - Alapala recently introduced its new roller mill, the
SIMILAGO, which it said is founded on
operational speed practicality, safety, hygiene and precision.
Alapala noted that the disassembling of
a roll set and assembling of another roll
set can be performed within 20 minutes.
The roll set is applied to a simple vehicle
by being lifted via a mechanism used on
every machine without utilizing any other
external lifting mechanism. The assembling can be accomplished without the use
of any special tool.
Alapala said great attention was paid to
the roller mill's hygienic details. The SIMILAGO can be cleaned very rapidly and thoroughly either by using a vacuum cleaner or
by wiping it out by opening the cover and
lifting the feed rolls forward and upward.
Both single- and double-high models
have the same chassis. Inside the roller
mill, 250-millimeter and 300-millimeter
rolls can be implemented.

to set the roll gaps with great precision and

to maintain those highly accurate settings
for a long period of time.
Feeding automation product level control is performed with several different
methods, and this has been dissolved with

a user-friendly system requiring no recalibration for any different product.
The operator controls the roller mill
through special software solutions, graphics and touch-screen.

VIGAN Engineering awarded Pakistani terminal project
NIVELLES, BELGIUM - VIGAN Engineering S.A. announced
on Sept. 9 that it has been selected as supplier for the ship unloaders, conveying and bagging equipment and flat storage for a
grain and fertilizer terminal project in Port Qasim (Karachi area),
Pakistan.
This FAP terminal (Fauji Abkar Portia Marine Terminals Ltd.) is
a joint venture between the Fauji Foundation and the Akbar Group,
with additional financing by a National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) consortium of lenders. This terminal will have a total handling capacity
of up to 4 million tonnes, of which 80% will be for grains. The facility will have total storage capacity of about 100,000 tonnes.

VIGAN said two different and complementary technologies will
be used for the ship unloading:
* One Mechanical SIMPORTER unloader (twin belt technology)
with a capacity of 1,000 tph; and
* One Pneumatic NIV unloader with a capacity of 600 tph.
VIGAN will also supply several hundred meters of conveyors
with their supporting structure, 12 bagging lines for grains and fertilizers with capacities between 60 to 100 tph (50 or 100 kilos bags)
and all the handling system for the 40,000 cubic meter fertilizer flat
storage.
VIGAN said the project is scheduled for completion in 2010.

marketing, marketing strategy, business development and strategic planning.

Certificate in Executive Integral Leadership from the University of
Notre Dame.
